Blow Your Own Trumpet!

In a recent post Nick said.... 

"We do have the Celebrations column on Words & Pictures, but what about a celebrations forum for lesser achievements – finishing a book say, or even a particularly difficult chapter?" 

So here it is!


Writers and illustrators please tell us in the comments about anything that during the last month has made you go 'yippee!' or 'I'm really pleased with myself' or 'aahh I feel good about that'.

For this post, relaxing our self promotion guideline a little, we want you to shout about your achievements that may not yet have the external affirmation we all long for but nevertheless are achievements and should be commended.

So go on, Blow Your Own Trumpet and we'll be all smiles for you!

    Took time out from slogging over novel m/s to write a short story. Typing The End was almost as lovely as a G&T on a scorching summer's day.

      Thanks Nick and Mark, though am a bit apprenhensive about the do to announce the winners - last one I went to was crushing as the readers must have liked my story but the celeb they got to do the final selection from shortlist so obviously didn't.

    I landed a big newspaper illustration job for Mainichi Shinbun in Japan which I'm in the middle of drawing now, so it looks like I can pay the mortgage this year :) Children's books will have to wait, I've 2 on at the moment, both are on hold, eek. Not enough hours in the day etc etc
